Eleanor Swimming Baths, Grimsby

Visited By: DBS, Mini

A wet and windyDecember morning, and a visit to Grimsby by Mini proved the backdrop for our explore of this old swimming pool and art college.  Our intention was to get into the much revered Grimsby Ice Factory, but recent filming for some Hollywood blockbuster meant that it was secured tightly, so instead we dropped into here before our visit to RAF Binbrook.

Internally, the place is devoid of any items left in situe, there are 2 swimming pools, both of which are filled in with brick work. The original building forms part of a listed complex belonging to the education authority, though this is the only empty building. It was originally constructed in 1897. The adjoining building is used for offices, and the car park and front is used by their staff. The rest of the complex has various education authority uses.
